How can we possibly embrace the feeling of emptiness with a sense of pause?
In today’s accelerated world, it's hard not to wonder if this very moment would be the last time we operate at a certain pace. From here-on, we as a collective, would only know how to move faster, not slower.
This gives room to never truly reflecting on the moments we live. Losing our rhythm; unable to continue with the song of life. Feeling disconnected with the orb.
Liturgy is the subset of a ritual. The word liturgy can also be termed as ‘service’ and refers to an act that is performed by those who have been through an initial phase of introspection and are willing to participate with the divine. The divine in this context being Mother Earth.
edai is delivered through a thoughtfully designed sustainable kit and comprises of three acts: Awaken, Commit and Reap.
Awaken by reading the transcript; constructed as a booklet with individual pages, consisting instructions of the process and tied together with an organic twine.
The transcript is curated with handmade bamboo paper that includes an opaque texture to accentuate emptiness. Due to the texture of the paper and delicate manner in which it holds the script, a sense of indulgence is evoked. Thus encouraging you to hold and feel each page as you read.
Commit yourself to the earthly cues.
The cues tend to function as punctuations that add balance to your everyday lifestyle. Indulging in the 14 carefully curated prompts allows you to feel one with the Earth.
These earthly prompts combine the elements of soil, air, fire and water with the intent of self awakening. They are designed to be accommodated per day for two weeks with the motive of planning everyday pauses. These are fairly simple and allow the user to use materials he would find in his living space, at his leisure. They are purposefully designed to evoke calmness, gratitude and reflection towards oneself as well as the Earth.
Reap from your mindful actions.
Empty the soil provided into a pot, making way for a metaphor to be grown. The earthly prompts are created with plantable, seed paper which once completed are planted and watered. edai's purpose solely exists in the fact that thoughts built during a period of stillness grow into something beautiful that can be embraced.
Practice the liturgy. Embrace edai.
